Coach Pat Connor’s Wildcat rowers knew that it was going to be a tough road in Zanesville when they took to Dillon Lake in the jam-packed, 48-team tournament. It was the largest field ever, as teams come from a combined seven countries with 500 boats entirely.

Saint Ignatius’ strength and teamwork powered the Wildcats to a 2nd place finish, behind Illinois school New Trier. The highlight of the day was the 1st place finish for the Novice Lightweight 4+ boat, as the ‘Cats came from behind and powered by their competitors. The Junior 4 boat also took home their race title in a thriller. Congrats to those two title winners.

Here are more results from the Midwest Invitational. All races have six competitors:

  • LWT8 boat took 5th place.
  • The J8, 2V, and 3V boats garnered 4th place.
  • The V4+, VLWT4+, F8, V2-, V8 boats all took 3rd place in the finals.
